When do we process personal data

We process personal data that you actively transmit to us through your entries. We also automatically process personal data based on the use of our website. Your personal data may therefore be processed in the following cases in particular:

  • Visiting our website

  • setting up a customer account

  • purchasing our products

  • contacting us

  • analyzing why visitors come to our website and how they use it; analyzing the success of our advertising measures

  • defending against attacks against our technical infrastructure;

For details, please refer to the following explanations:

Visiting our website

When you visit our website, the company commissioned to operate the website stores the public IP address, the device type and the browser you use to visit our website, including the date and time of access. The IP address is a unique numerical address under which your computer sends or retrieves data on the internet. As a rule, we or our service provider do not know who is behind an IP address unless you provide us with data while using our website that enables us to identify you. Furthermore, a user may be identified if we take legal action (e.g. in the event of attacks against our website) and become aware of the identity of a user as part of the investigation procedure. As a rule, you do not have to worry that we will be able to assign your IP address to you.

Our service provider uses the IP address so that you can access and use our website, to detect and defend against attacks against our website. Unfortunately, there are always attacks against websites in order to harm their operators or users (e.g. preventing access to the site, spying on data, spreading malware (e.g. viruses) or other unlawful purposes). Such attacks would impair the intended use of our website and its functionality as well as the security of visitors to our website.
The IP address and the time of access are processed to prevent such attacks and thus potential dangers for us and the users of our website. Through our service provider, we pursue the legitimate interest of maintaining our business operations and preventing unlawful interference against us and the visitors to our website with this processing. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR. The stored IP data is deleted by anonymization when it is no longer required for the detection or defense against an attack.

Highwinds Network Group

To deliver our data more quickly in the respective region, we use content delivery networks to provide you with the greatest possible capacity and data throughput. The public IP address of the computer (see above) is transmitted. Further information on the Highwinds CDN and its privacy policy can be found here. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR

Creation of a customer account

To be able to use all the functions of our website, you must create a customer account. With the exception of the information to be provided during registration, all other personal details are voluntary. You alone decide what information you include in your user profile. You can edit and delete your details at any time.

If you do not provide any data that allows you to be identified (e.g. your cell phone number), you can use our offer in such a way that we do not know who you are. Although you must provide your name and address when you purchase our products, only our payment service provider receives this data and does not pass it on to us. You can therefore use our website anonymously.

If you create a customer account and add information to your profile, we process the data you provide for this purpose in order to create and manage your customer account and to enable you to use our services associated with your customer account. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 b) GDPR.

The data will be stored until your customer account is deleted. If we are legally obliged to store the data for a longer period (e.g. to fulfill accounting obligations) or are legally entitled to store the data for a longer period (e.g. due to an ongoing legal dispute against the holder of a customer account), the data will be deleted after the storage obligation or legal entitlement has expired.

Processing of special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 GDPR

If you enter data in your profile or otherwise provide us with data for processing that could be considered special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 GDPR (e.g. ethnic origin, religious or ideological beliefs, data on sex life or sexual orientation), we process these solely on the basis of your voluntary information and exclusively for the provision of the functions of our offer for which this data is requested and used.

Purchase of products

When you purchase our products, we process the data you provide for the conclusion and performance of the contract. To the extent necessary, data is transferred to service providers for the billing of your purchase. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 b) GDPR.

Together with our payment service provider, we process this data in connection with your IP address to detect and prevent fraud attempts. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR. Our aim is to protect ourselves from fraudulent transactions.

Data stored in connection with the conclusion of a contract for the purchase of a product will be deleted after expiry of the statutory retention period. Insofar as legal recording and retention obligations exist due to the processing of a purchase contract (e.g. retention of invoices under tax law), the legal basis for processing is Art. 1 para. 1 c) GDPR.

We delete the data when it is no longer required for the performance of the respective contract and there are no longer any statutory retention obligations.

Use of cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixel tags, tracking pixels and other identifiers) to operate our website in order to understand how visitors use our website and to store preferences that a user has set in their browser. We also use them to personalize our websites for each user and to adapt our advertising measures.

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer when your browser accesses our website. If you visit our website again later, we can read these cookies from your browser again. Cookies are stored for different lengths of time. You have the option at any time to set here or in your browser which cookies it should accept, but this may result in our website no longer working properly. You can also delete cookies yourself at any time. If you do not do this, we can specify how long a cookie should be stored on your computer when it is saved. A distinction must be made here between so-called session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are deleted by your browser when you leave our website or close the browser. Persistent cookies are stored for the duration we specify when they are saved.

We use cookies for the following purposes:

Technically required cookies, which are absolutely necessary for the use of the functions of our website (e.g. recognizing whether you have logged in). Without these cookies, certain functions could not be provided.

Functional cookies, which are used to technically enable certain functions that you wish to use. We also use such cookies to personalize the website for you. Analysis cookies, which are used to analyze your user behavior. For details, please read the information on " Analysis" .

Cookies from third-party providers. These are stored by third parties whose functions we integrate on our website to enable certain functions. They can also be used to analyze user behavior. For details, please read the information on " Analysis" .

Most browsers that our users use allow them to set which cookies are to be stored and make it possible to delete (certain) cookies again. If you restrict the storage of cookies to certain websites or do not allow cookies from third-party websites, this may mean that our website can no longer be used to its full extent. Here you will find information on how to adjust the cookie settings for the most common browsers:

Evaluations

Service providers commissioned by us create non-personal evaluations for us on which user groups access our website and how they use it. For this purpose, for example, general information is processed, such as the local origin, the browser used, from which website you switched to us and which search terms were used to find our site. We also analyze how our website is used, which pages are accessed how often and for how long, and which functions of our website are used and how. This data helps us to better understand how our website is found in order to improve our search engine optimization and our advertising measures. We can also use the information to better understand how our website is used by users and which functions are of particular interest to them in order to make it more user-friendly and to add functions that we believe are in the interests of our users. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR. If you do not want this, please install an extension in your browser that prevents such analyses. Two well-known tools are Ghostery and uBlock Origin. You should also set your browser so that it does not accept cookies from third parties. Google Analytics privacy policy

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland. ("Google"). The use is made on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f. GDPR. Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website such as

Browser type/version,
operating system used,
Referrer URL (the previously visited page),
Host name of the accessing computer (IP address),
Time of the server request, are generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We use Google Analytics in such a way that your IP address is only used in anonymized form. This anonymization takes place in the European Union or a member state of the EEA according to Google. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and only shortened there. According to Google, anonymization takes place before the IP address is stored on a permanent data carrier for the first time. For details, please refer to Google's privacy policy, available at
- https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

An anonymous identification number (ID) is assigned to your browser in order to check which ads have been displayed in your browser and which ads have been accessed. The cookies do not contain any personal information. The use of DoubleClick cookies only enables Google and its partner websites to display ads based on previous visits to our or other websites on the Internet. The information generated by the cookies is transmitted by Google to a server in the USA for analysis and stored there. Google observes the data protection provisions of the "US Safe Harbor" agreement and is registered with the "Safe Harbor" program of the US Department of Commerce. A transfer of data by Google to third parties only takes place on the basis of legal regulations or as part of order data processing. Under no circumstances will Google combine your data with other data collected by Google.

reCAPTCHA

We use the reCAPTCHA service on our website. Our aim is to secure and protect it in the best possible way. Google Ireland limited is responsible for this. With this service, we use your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) to determine whether you are not a robot or whether SPAM software has been used. We use this service because a preliminary analysis of various other tools unfortunately did not produce good results. We therefore have a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f to protect ourselves in the best possible way. Data is collected that is necessary for the analysis. For the European Economic Area, the IP addresses are normally shortened before they are transmitted to the USA. In addition, a cookie is placed and various data is

used via JavaScript, such as operating system / language settings / screen resolution etc. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that despite the standard contractual clauses used to ensure that a certain level of data protection is maintained for third countries, data is processed in the USA and this may involve possible risks. Google Googleadservices / Google AdWords Conversion

This website uses tools for "online marketing" from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This is used to recognize that a visitor has come to our website via a Google ad. Google uses cookies that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The cookies for so-called "conversion tracking" are set when you click on an advertisement placed by Google. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If you wish to prevent "conversion tracking", you can exercise your right to opt-out via the page:https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ . If you would like to learn more about these methods or would like to know what options you have to prevent this information from being used by Google, click here:https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/ads/authenticated .

Use of Google Remarketing

This website uses the remarketing function of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The function is used to present interest-based advertisements to website visitors within the Google advertising network. The technology enables us to place automatically generated, target group-oriented advertisements after your visit to our website. The ads are based on the products and services that you clicked on during your last visit to our website. For this purpose, a so-called "cookie" is stored in the browser of the website visitor, which makes it possible to recognize the visitor when he or she visits websites that belong to the Google advertising network. Google normally stores information such as your web request, IP address, browser type, browser language, date and time of your request. This information is used to assign the web browser to a specific computer. On the pages of the Google advertising network, the visitor may then be presented with advertisements that relate to content that the visitor has previously accessed on websites that use Google's remarketing function.

If you have consented to Google linking your browser history to your Google account: https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/ads/authenticated, and using information from your Google account to personalize ads, the remarketing function will also work across devices. Google collects your Google ID and uses it for the purpose of cross-device recognition.

According to its own information, Google does not collect any personal data during this process. However, if you do not wish to use Google's remarketing function, you can deactivate it by making the appropriate settings at: https://www.google.com/settings/ads.

Alternatively, you can deactivate the use of cookies for interest-based advertising via the advertising network initiative by following the instructions at
https://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp
or
https://www.youronlinechoices.com/lu/praferenzmanagement.

You can also prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. Further information on how Google uses cookies can be found in Google's privacy policy.
